We Comfort...

Karen Ross has been moved to a hospice care facility in Palm Springs.  Please pray that she is filled with peace and comfort!  Chita Britcher and Sharon Wren have taken such sweet care of Karen this last year.  They even moved Karen (and her dog) out of her home so she could move in with Chita for 24 hour care.  What precious friends!

We Will Pray...
Joann Hassett is going in for a knee replacement on Wednesday. Please lift her up in your prayers for a successful surgery and complete recovery!  We know Dick will take good care of her, along with their daughter who is here to help. 

  We Give Thanks...
Bill Brandow's throat surgery went well and he is feeling confident he will be back next Sunday!It's never the same with Bill out on a Sunday, he keeps our Connecting Team in motion!  Thanks to Tonya for filling in and to Patty & Hal for helping with communion service.

Serena Williams was back in church after her hip surgery and recovery!  She's beautiful as ever and at 92 she's an inspiration!

Joan Rohm is home and still doing rehab but has asked us to pray both for physical healing and emotional strength.

Dick Bornac is home recovering from his back surgery. He will be doing rehab and therapy, let's pray he feels strong soon!

We Reach Out...

A couple in our church are in desperate need of a car that can safely drive the freeway. 

They need to be able to visit their father who is quite ill with cancer.  Please, if you have a extra car or know of a neighbor or friend that have a extra car that can be donated, pray about it and contact Laura Keener (lkeener@desertspringschurch.org) for details.

"iPray" Vacation Bible School
Thank you for your prayers and volunteer support for"iPray" Vacation Bible School.  It was a great success with over 90 registered kids.  The most important news is that 9 kids made a first-time decision to follow Christ!  This is what we are celebrating!

We have collected over 2200 t-shirts to send to Guine Bissau, Africa! A big THANK YOU to Klein Clark Sports who donated t-shirts from their warehouse surplus and to all our kids who brought in t-shirts so they could meet the goal and see Pastor Mike get SLIMED! 

We Comfort...
Reminder,  Emily Leno's memorial is scheduled for Saturday, June 15th at 2:00pm.  Her husband Carl and their family hope you are able to celebrate her life with them on that day.

Michael St. Clair has returned home safely from their mission trip in the Philippines. His beautiful wife Evangeline will remain ministering there for an additional three months.  Please continue to lift her up in prayer.

"iPray" Vacation Bible School: June 7 - 9
Please pray for all the children attending our weekend VBS this weekend.  The theme is to teach the kids the importance of prayer, connecting with the Creator Himself!

We Comfort...
Jim Leonivich's father passed away suddenly while attending a seminary graduation in the Ukraine.  Jim & his beautiful wife Ann are part of our Desert Springs Family and supported missionaries to the Ukraine. Please lift them up in prayer, Jimmie and family are leaning on the Lord for comfort, strength and peace.  They will be together again, that helps heal the broken heart. 

As I mentioned last week our sister Emily Leno went to heaven May 22nd.  Her memorial is now scheduled for Saturday, June 15th at 2:00pm.  Her husband Carl and their family hope you are able to celebrate her life with them on that day.

Ceil Burns is doing well in rehabilitation after her hip surgery.

Frank Greenwood had pacemaker put in and is doing great.

Our dear brother Paul Neff passed away on Tuesday, May 21st.  Please lift up his precious wife Roberta, their family & friends in prayer.  May they feel comfort from our Lord and draw strength from His promises.

Phil Lopiccola, a wonderful man of God, husband, father & friend has gone on to the arms of Jesus.  His wife Lorraine is trusting in the Lord for comfort and peace, as this was quite sudden with no warning. She believes in God's perfect plan for Phil and is thankful he did not have to suffer.  Phil was just 67 years young and a part of our GO!Team. A servant for the Lord, now getting his eternal rewards.

The bake sale raised over $1400 which will help pay for children of families who can not afford to attend VBS "iPray" this June. We don't want any of our kids, grandchildren or their friends to miss out on this great weekend of teaching the importance of prayer!
