PASTOR JIM SMOKE UPDATE (5/27/14)

As most of you know, our precious Pastor Jim Smoke went home to be the Lord on Tuesday afternoon, May 20th. Jim was Pastor to Senior Adults at Desert Springs Church in Palm Desert, and is already dearly missed.  

Pastor Jim's Celebration of Life Service is confirmed for Saturday, May 31st at 1:30pm at Desert Springs Church. Doors will open at 12:30pm.

In honor of Jim's Hawaiian style, the family aks that men wear Hawaiian shirts and ladies Hawaiian or casual dress.  

In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to Samartians Purse at www.samaritanspurse.com.   

His wife Carol and family appreciate the loving prayers of so many.  Cards and notes may be sent to the church address for Carol and the Smoke family.

Special Prayers Needed for our 
Supported Missionaries  

Please remember to pray for Jim Leonovich, our missionary to Slavic Nations.  Jim is leaving today for the UKRAINE to be a support to his Christian brothers and sisters in this time of great tension and government upheaval.  Pray for Jim's safety and that he may be a blessing to and comfort to everyone he meets with.


      


Urgent prayers needed for Pastor Tony Vaz in Guinea Bissau.  He is in ICU with severe heart issues and if he is to survive he needs to go immediately to Portugal for a surgery.  If you feel led to help with his medical care you can give a donation at DSC just be sure you mark it is for Pastor Tony, Guinea Bissau.

We are asking for special prayers for one of our missionary

Junio Souza in Nepal.  Junio as been diagnosed with Hepatitis C and having to undergo very expensive treatments.  We pray for quick healing and their financial needs to be met so they continue to share the gospel in Nepal.

Baja, Mexico Mission Trip

June 22-27, 2014

We are getting excited to leave on our first mission trip to Baja, Mexico in June 22, 2014.

PASTOR JIM SMOKE UPDATE (5/21/14)

Our precious Pastor Jim Smoke went home to be the Lord on Tuesday afternoon, May 20th. Jim had been receiving treatments for Cancer, and was quite weak.  On Monday of that same week, he was admitted to Eisenhower Medical Center for care and observation, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday at about 4pm.  Jim was Pastor to Senior Adults at Desert Springs Church in Palm Desert, and is already dearly missed.  

His wife Carol and family appreciate the loving prayers of so many, and politely request privacy in this time of grief and loss.  Cards and notes may be sent to the church address for Carol and the Smoke family.  

The Memorial Service is now confirmed for Saturday, May 31st at 1:30pm.

As I said before...knowing Jim is with his Heavenly Father brings comfort and knowing we will be together in eternity brings comfort but right now our grief is deep and our tears are real.

AWESOME WORSHIP CHOIR CONCERTS!

What a joy and inspiration the end of the season choir concerts were last Sunday!  If you attended ... you were blessed!  If you missed ... you don't want to ever miss again!  A huge thanks to Pastor Tom and his faithful choir members for giving so much to us through music and worship! May they all have a good rest this summer.
