Many of you know Michael & Sherri Gagliardi, family members of Desert Springs Church.  Michael often plays in our worship band and Sherri runs the Refresh family room service.  Both are precious to us and to the Lord; such servants!   

Last Sunday Sherri's 28 year old nephew was killed in a car crash.  Would you lift their family up in prayer, they will need the comfort and peace that can only come from God!

THANKSGIVING...a time to share your blessings with others.  Because of your generosity The Food Pantry at Desert Springs put together over 30 Thanksgiving dinners for families in need.   

Just a thought to ponder, what if the question around holiday tables wasn't "What are you so grateful for?"  but rather "How are you changing the world because you are so grateful?"

PHILIPPINES IN CRISIS

We are thrilled to have raised $6,000 to send to our outreach missions in the Philippines.  Thank you so much for your generous donations last week.  Every dollar will go to help those in dire need.   

A celebration of life service is arranged for Shirley Smaldino this Saturday, November 23rd from noon - 3pm at the Monterey Country Club HOA Office.

PHILIPPINES IN CRISIS

Tacolban, Philippines is the hometown (born and raised) of our very own Evangeline Byrnes-St. Clair. Evangeline just returned from months of doing her missionary work with the UTAP Community Bible Church there.   As you can understand she is heartbroken over the loss of life and destruction of homes and her city.  If you would like to make a contribution that will help directly, please contact Evangeline at utapmissionary@yahoo.com to find out how you can make a tax deductible donation.

Our precious sister Shirley Smaldino passed away last week, unexpected and very quickly.  Shirley was very involved in our Prayer Shawl Knitter's group and in Pastor Jim Smoke's class.

Many of you know our dear family members Jack & Joan Washburn.  Jack is on our board and both Jack & Joan serve faithfully in our church and with the Narrow Door Ministry.  I am deeply sorry to let you know that Joan's daughter Suzy passed away in her sleep last Friday morning.  She had a number of medical issues but this was unexpected.  Jack & Joan have left to be with Suzy's four grown children (their grandchildren) and will need our prayers for comfort and strength. I will claim Psalm 112: 4-9 for them, please join me in these promises for Joan & Jack, gracious, compassionate and righteous people of God.

In Memory Of....

Our dear sister Karen Ross went to her heavenly home last week.  Pastor Mark led a celebration of life service for her family and had the chance to share Karen's heart for the Lord.  Karen loved this church and gave back so generously in time and service. 

As I posted a few weeks earlier, Jeanne Drehmer went to be with our Lord on Sept. 20th. A beautiful celebration of life service for Jeanne was held on Oct. 21st where her husband Phil sang a special song for his beloved wife. Continue to pray for Phil's comfort.

Jeanne Drehmer -- Jeanne went to be with our Lord Friday, Sept. 20.   Please pray for her dear husband Phil; that the Lord will comfort him and give him strength. It's been nearly one year since Pastor Saeed's illegal captivity at the hands of the Iranians.

Now, Iran has a new president, and he claims to be more moderate than his predecessor.
We're going to hold him to his word.

Using a brand-new website that raises awareness for the persecuted church and gives a voice to the voiceless, we're asking you to sign a petition or write a letter to President Hassan Rouhani asking that he free Pastor Saeed.

PRAISES!  Jim & Annie Leonovich are home after  months serving in the Ukraine! The Lord used them mightily and they were able to lead 20 people to Christ;  bringing glory to God through their work!
