Hard isn't it...watching the news each day?  Terrible earthquakes, diseases spreading, Christians are being persecuted, wars and rumors of wars, young girls are being kidnapped.  We think that it just must be the end times and Christ will return soon, but our thoughts are not His thoughts and our time is not His time.  So what are we commanded to do?  Pray. Do not lose hope. Remember who God is. His power. His justice. His kingdom.

PRAY ...Not a simple answer but it's what our Savior commands us to do.  Let's commit to praying more than ever before and sharing our peace and hope with others who are living in fear.

1 Corinthians 12:26 "We pray because we feel their pain."

Praying for Comfort, Health, Healing, Recovery & Wisdom

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort  those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

DSC Supported Missionaries Prayer Requests

Need SPECIAL PRAYER for missionary Adam Hussey as he has been diagnosed with Dengue Fever.  His wife Alei is daughter of Benji & Cory Andres who are family members here at DSC.  We have a great love and appreciation for Adam, Alei and their sweet daughter Eliana who give all they have to be missionaries in the Philippines with Action International.

OUR PASTORS in GUINEA BISSAU need SPECIAL PRAYER COVERING!  Guinea Bissau borders Guinea, Liberia & Sierra Leone where the EBOLA VIRUS outbreak is critical.  Over 2000 people have died.  We faithfully and  humbly give monthly support to Pastor Marius, Pastor Fona, Pastor Hiskey and Pastor Tony and also to God's Word Church.  Our ties to each of them are precious and our support in prayer is critical.  We can not ignore our brothers & sisters in Christ who sacrifice so much for the Kingdom. PRAY FOR THEM throughout the day and when you awaken in the night. PRAY FOR PROTECTION.

UKRIANE is crumbling, people fleeing as they have no supplies, no electricity, no medical care. We need to continue to lift our brothers and sisters in Christ who are in the Ukraine under attack. Our missionaries Jim & Annie Leonovich are in daily contact with the supported churches and Pastors.  It seems to be getting worse each day but GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Evangeline Byrnes-St. Clair is still in the Philippines continuing her aide to the church and city that needs rebuilding after the devasting typhoon. They need clothing for shildren and men, ceiling fans, chairs and donations.  Evangeline works tirelessly, always giving God the glory and thanking Him for the opportunity to serve Him in her country.  Pray for her strength, financial support and health.

Continued prayers are needed for one of our missionaries Junio Souza in Nepal.  Junio has been diagnosed with Hepatitis C and having to undergo very expensive treatments.  We pray for complete healing and their financial needs to be met so they continue to share the gospel in Nepal.

I read a blog last week and thought it was worth passing on. For those of us who went on the June 2014 Mexico Mission trip and for any of you who have experienced serving on a mission trip...you will understand this boy's heart.

MEXICAN MISSION PERSPECTIVE

Our son, Elliot, went on a missions trip to Mexico this summer, with our church high school youth group. The stories he shared with us about Mexican hospitality, and the wealth that we have in America, made me think of this story:

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

Upon their return from their trip the father asked his son, “How was the trip?”

“It was great, Dad.”

“Did you see how poor people live?” the father asked.

“Oh yeah,” said the son.

“So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father.

The son answered:

“I saw that we have one dog and they had four.

We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.

We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.

Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.

We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.

We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.

We buy our food, but they grow theirs.

We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.”

The boy’s father was speechless.

Then his son added, “Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.”

Isn’t perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don’t have.

Urgent Prayer needed for Christians in Iraq

Thousands are fleeing the terrible advancement of  ISIS takeover
and are without food, water, shelter or medicine.
Christians are being persecuted and and asked to convert or die.

Islamic militants have eradicated virtually every trace of Christianity from Mosul, Iraq’s second
largest city, Nina Shea, director of the Hudson Institute’s Center for Religious Freedom, said July 23. “There are no Christians left in Mosul,” Shea told CBN News. “They have all been driven out. They have been told to convert to Islam or die, or to leave.”

Shea, who formerly served as vice chair for the U.S. Commission on International Religious
Freedom, said fighters with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) marked the property of
Christians in Mosul with the Arabic word “Nasrani,” or “Nazarene” -- a clear reference to
Christianity. Christian property owners were then driven out.

Last month militants offered Christians in Mosul the opportunity to enter into a dhimma, an
agreement which would have allowed them to practice the Christian faith behind closed doors
after they paid a hefty tax and agreed not to proselytize. However, multiple sources in the region
said that offer was later withdrawn and all Christians were told to leave or face execution.

WE HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY !

"So I chose to remember.  I remembered all I have been given. I remembered all I possess in Christ.  I remembered the grace of God comes to me in uncomfortable circumstances, and His purpose is to conform me to Himself.  I remembered nothing can separate me from His love.( Romans 8:35)

What God's graciously given you is always enough to be abundant grace for someone else."  ...Joy Forney, incourage.me
