FAMILY LIFE at Desert Springs - a place where we can share the heart of our church family; prayers, praises and important announcements.  Be sure to check-in often to see what is happening.

If you have a prayer request or praise, please submit by contacting me, Laura Keener, Frontline Director at Desert Springs....760-568-3646 or lkeener@desertspringsfamily.org.

On April 7th Art Tuverson went to his home in heaven. A memorial service in his honor will be held on Saturday, May 30th, 12 noon at Desert Springs Community Church. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in honor of Arthur's memory to The Living Desert in Palm Desert or to the Lucy Curci Cancer Center in Rancho Mirage.  The service is open to all Desert Springs Church family. Please join us as we CELEBRATE  Art's life and all she meant to us.

Last week Joan Washburn's mother passed away suddenly. Joan said her mom was a real woman of God and is now in heaven with Joan's daughter Suzy (who passed away last year).  Please keep Joan in your prayers, she has so much on her shoulders now, as her son Steven is terminally ill.

Also, this week Lily Bent went home to be with our Lord.  She was a precious women and best friend of our Serena Williams. Keep her family and friends in your prayers.

TOUGH WEEK?

A couple of really hard weeks. You know . . . the kind that makes you just wonder how so much can be happening at once. The kind of weeks that make your heart ache for lots of reasons. The kind of weeks that make you weary and tired.

It is a lot. It can be overwhelming. You go about your days, but this heavy stuff is never far from your mind and heart. Sometimes it seems like too much. I know that God doesn’t tell us this life will be free from struggle. He doesn’t tell us this life is immune from difficulties. This life is just plain unpredictable, and it can be stressful, disappointing, sad, and sometimes scary.
But take heart, friends, His love is deeper than any of these trials. His peace is bigger than any of these trials.

One thing we do know is that He will be with us. So it will be okay.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” {Isaiah 41:10}

Another thing we know is that He can give us peace in the struggle. So it will be okay.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” {John 16:33}

Although peace sometimes seems a little harder to find when we are in the midst of sadness and darkness . . . it is there. God’s peace is comfort in the storm. There is a season for everything, but hope is always ahead. God is always good, and we are always loved. This heartache and disappointment won’t last because His peace and His love are greater.
We will never be able to predict where this life will take us and what we will go through. Bad things happen. Good things happen. That is just how life works.

But one thing we can be sure of is that God is our partner through it all. His peace will comfort us regardless of our circumstances, an inward peace that can only come from Christ.

NEPAL MISSION'S REPORT

Just over two weeks after thousands died in a mammoth earthquake, Nepal got hit hard again Tuesday by another powerful tremor that has left dozens more dead, more than 1,000 injured and questions about what's next for the already traumatized Asian nation.

Tuesday's disaster piled fresh horror on Nepalis still picking up the pieces from last month's quake and its legion of aftershocks. More buildings collapsed, more landslides rumbled and people once again scrambled for their lives.

Pray for supplies to get to those in need...water, food, tents, medical care...

Our missionaries that serve with Youth With A Mission have communicated that they were not hurt and are in full rescue mode. May those they help feel the love of the Lord and find comfort and strength.
